Units per Container,
by Model.

Official loading quantities for every SunModu system — folding, expandable and flat pack — taken from each model's factory packing specification, with the packing and offloading notes that turn the numbers into a freight plan.

How Many Units per Container?

A standard 40HQ high-cube container holds up to 14 SunModu units — fourteen Compact Mid-Fold folding houses, or ten Rapid Z-Fold units, or six F720 compact expandables, or four 10ft expandables, or two 20ft expandables. The 30ft travels one unit per 40HQ and the 40ft one unit per flat rack. Figures are factory packing-specification baselines; the project loading plan is confirmed with the quotation.

[THE MATH]

How the Loading Math Works

One formula turns the table into a freight plan: freight cost per unit equals one container movement divided by the units loaded.

One ocean quotation — whatever your lane and season dictate — is shared by everything packed inside the box. Load two 20ft expandables and each unit carries half the container leg. Load fourteen mid-folds and each carries one fourteenth. Same vessel, same documentation, same port handling.

Two practical notes. Folding and compact programs are cube-limited, not weight-limited: fourteen 1,000 kg mid-folds total around 14 tonnes, well below a 40HQ payload ceiling, so the folded profile is the number to watch. And the ratio holds on the domestic leg — a full container is one truck delivery to site, not fourteen.

[PACKING & HANDLING]

Packing and Offloading by Model

Every folded unit ships flat-packed in its folded state with corner guards, stretch film wrapping and foam edge protection, then is stacked and lashed inside the container by the packing team.

[PLANNING]

What Shapes Your Loading Plan

  • Unit mix — how many of each model travel together, and which door orientations stack
  • Container type — baselines assume 40HQ high-cube equipment; other equipment on request
  • Port pair — the loading and discharge ports set the ocean leg your units share
  • Site offloading — the receiving crane or forklift must match the model tonnage in the table above
  • Program schedule — phased deliveries split a program across multiple loading plans
  • Lashing plan — units are stacked and lashed per the packing specification for the sea leg
[QUOTING]

From Table to Quotation

Send your unit count, unit mix and destination port. We reply with a per-container loading plan, an ocean freight estimate and the full packing specification alongside the quotation, so the freight math is agreed before the first container books. The interactive version of this table lives in our container load calculator, and the packing process behind it is described on shipping & logistics.

[LOADING FAQ]

Loading Capacity FAQ

How many container houses fit in a 40HQ container?

Between 1 and 14, depending on the model: 14 for the Compact Mid-Fold folding house, 10 for the Rapid Z-Fold, 6 for the F720 compact expandable, 4 for the 10ft expandable, 2 for the 20ft expandable and 1 for the 30ft. The 40ft expandable ships one unit per 40ft flat rack.

Which model has the lowest freight cost per unit?

The Compact Mid-Fold. Fourteen units share one container movement, so each unit carries one fourteenth of the ocean leg — freight cost per unit equals the container rate divided by the units loaded.

Are these loading quantities guaranteed for every order?

They are factory packing-specification baselines for standard 40HQ containers. The final loading plan is confirmed per order — unit mix, door orientations and project engineering can adjust the count, and the confirmed plan is issued with the quotation.

What equipment do I need to unload each model?

Folded expandable and folding models unload with a forklift or crane of 3 to 5 tons minimum capacity; the 30ft expandable needs an 8-ton crane and the 40ft a 10-ton crane. Flat pack modules unload by mobile crane according to the project lifting plan.

How are folded container houses protected during shipping?

Each unit ships flat-packed in its folded state with corner guards, stretch film wrapping and foam edge protection, then is stacked and lashed inside the container by the packing team before the sea leg.
